Configuring SPN for Instances on two different SQL servers u
News Group: microsoft.public.sqlserver.server

Looking for some clarity on my situation. I have two SQL instances for separate environments. These two instances use the same domain service account.

When I check the SPNs for both instances, Instance A and Instance B, I have six listed out for each one. When I check the SPNs for the service account I only have MSSQLServer SPNs created for one of the instances, so MSSQLSvr/Instance A. There is not one for Instance B.

Now I'm obviously thinking I need to manually create the MSSQLServer SPNs for my Instance B.

Shouldn't that be correct? Any issues with doing that?

thx
