I have a client running vista. They are getting a ' cannot write engine configuration file error' in a D5 application
On reinstalling the BDE the are about 100 extraneous aliases that have been added by some unkown agency
They are named LEB131301D19 or similar and all start with either LEB or REB.
They cannot be deleted or closed and on trying to open demand a password.
Does anyone know where these are coming from - how to get rid of them- or why they are preventing writes to the config file.
In bdeadmin I can add an alias to the config file with no error, but when I try to edit under program control we get the error.
In 20 years working with BDE I have never seen anything like this
Please advise
