just got Win 8 Pro installed and tried to install and run my two BDE apps and yes, they run just fine. FYI, my apps do not "access" any "BDEAdmin stuff" and do not use database Aliases, it is a "simple" Paradox DB app that accesses the tables by file path so the BDE "core" seems to install and run just fine on Win8 64 Pro.

Generally about Win8, it seems a bit shaky, installation bombed but a restart and a new user account "fixed" that, Windows Update doesn't work properly and a few other glitches. The new "tablet" UI takes some getting used to, e.g. had to go to the help to find out how to shut off the computer. All in all, wait for the coming service packs if you don't need it right now.
