D7: can you turn OFF the disappearing components?
News Group: borland.public.delphi.ide.general

Hi,

When you have a TDateModule, the available components on the
pallette are different from when you have a TForm selected.

Can this behaviour be turned OFF?

I often have something else selected and want to drop a component
on a form (for example) and I first have to select the form AFTER
I've found out the component isn't available. Annoying.

It makes sense if you happen NOT to be on, for example, a TForm, but
yet you want to drop a component on it and you know you can cause you
can see the form and click on it.

I get caught by this several times whenever I do visual design :-(

Yes and its good so. I don't want to search for Components, who are in fact
not available in the context. This would make no sense.

I know you can, but it's more things I have to do while
I'm searching for the component already.

I really want to turn this behaviour OFF.

You cannot turn it off. The component palette is context sensitive.
