Subject: Generation of typed datasets in Delphi.NET 2005 problem
NewsGroup: borland.public.delphi.database.general
Date Posted: 25-Nov-2004 at 11:38:23 PST
I have a serious problem with the generation of typed datasets under Borland
Delphi.NET 2005. When I have bdpDataAdapter that is referring to a tables of
MS Access or MS SQL Server and then I try to generate a typed dataset I get
the following error.

The following exception occurred while creating the typed dataset:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8000FFFF) :Failed to create
Process

Error Message: The system cannot find the file specified

At.Borland.Studio.TypeMappings.IOTASchemaCompiler.AddSchemaAndGenerate(String
filename, IOTAProject project)

At.Borland.Studio.TypeMappings.SchemaUtil.a(DataSet[], String , String ,
DataSet, IOTAProject , IServiceProvider)

Can anybody tell me the solution to this problem? Please note that this
error appears only in Delphi.NET 2005 not in Delphi.NET 8, C# Builder or MS
Visual Studio.Net with SQLDataAdapter or OledbDataAdapter. Please also note
that this problem appears in two systems I have tested with full winxp
updated.

Please help me. It will be very helpful to me if you also reply your answers
and to my email.

Email: stavrinc@hotmail.com

Your answers will be very helpful to me.

Thank you

Hi Chistos,
On my own system, I have a different problem (see my post further).
On another system, I get the very same error than you.
Hope someone will help (unless this is a D2005 bug .....)

This is becuase you are using the trial version of the product. Borland does
not supply the command line compiler in the trial SKU's. If you would like
to use typed datasets in trial you will need to use the C# personality.

Where is supposed to post questions like this to? There seems to be a lot of
this don't post to this newsgroup answers at the moment and much of it seems
to be in relation to trying kill off people saying they have problems with
Delphi 8 or 9.
